My name is Janet Keo Conklin.
I represent the City of La Palma as a Councilmember At-Large.
I am a small business owner, realtor, community advocate, mother of two, and I am running to represent YOU as your next Orange County Assessor in 2026.
I’ve spoken to families and residents all across Orange County and the common denominator? Rising housing costs and affordability. As a homeowner advocate and out of pure frustration, I threw my name in the hat.
Now, not everyone is familiar with this office or what an Assessor even does…
My promise to you?
• Intentional accuracy
Fair, and accurate property assessments so everyone pays just their share. No more, no less.
• Homeownership 101
Helping homeowners understand their values and options that come along, including exemptions and appeals.
• Upgraded technology
I’ll make the Assessor’s Office more user-friendly, updating our digital user experience through technological advancements and 100% direct customer support.
• A supportive space
Your concerns are my concerns. Under my leadership, this office will be easy to navigate. Clear explanations, fast responses, no headaches.
Orange County is one of the most desirable places to live in California. So in such a high-cost market, I will:
• Protect and support homeowners from unexpected valuation spikes.
Preserve homeownership values under Proposition 13 to keep low tax rates for families.
